In addition to the enrolment fees, secondary expenses will occur for lectures and courses that are not held on our campus in Detmold. Additional expenses for travelling, accommodation and living will be incurred during the study programme. We always try to keep these expenses to a minimum.


Language requirements        

Knowledge of the English language, documented by one of the following tests or certificates, with the indicated minimum score or results:

  • At least seven years of English in school education, with, as a rule, a grade of at least satisfactory (C) in the last four half-year terms
  • TOEFL paper-based 550
  • TOEFL internet-based (ibt) 79-80
  • TOEFL computer-based 213
  • TOEIC 750
  • IELTS 6.5 – 7.0
  • Cambridge CPE/CAE pass or proof of equal qualification


Academic requirements         

University entrance qualification or equivalent

  • A Bachelor’s or diploma degree, or by way of exception, another examination in a course of study with substantial engineering components (for example architecture, interior design, civil engineering, industrial construction engineering) and with a duration of at least six semesters
  • Information about professional experience in a field relevant to the Master’s programme IFDC or MCDC
  • Knowledge of the English language (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
  • Portfolio
